SpinFire Professional 8.1

Infotech Enterprises GmbH (Germany) has released a new version of the CAD viewer SpinFire Professional, a software solution which provides visualisation, measuring, mark-up and import of all popular CAD formats without requiring a complex CAD system.

The latest version, SpinFire Professional 8.1, includes seven updated importers: Pro/E, UG, Catia V4, Catia V5, Parasolid, Step and I-DEAS. Importing times of CAD files are considerably reduced which allows for an even faster access to all popular CAD formats. Besides, memory usage is reduced during the importing process, which is especially beneficial when importing large models and assemblies.

With the new SpinFire Professional 8.1, PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) annotations can be displayed and interacted with. The new API enables the user to devise custom plug-ins for solving unique challenges. Other productivity-boosting improvements include sum of connected edges mark-ups, a variety of new user views, the ability to quickly create animations and greater printing control.

With SpinFire, all 3D and 2D CAD data can be opened, viewed and marked-up within one easy-to-access file. The market leader in digital design communications preserves all part data as it is published in the software’s .3D-format. This means, that even without the original CAD data, volume and surface area can be computed, thickness and angles be measured, and more. Anyone can open and view all data and all mark-ups using the free downloadable SpinFire Reader.

As all relevant design data is preserved in a single compact .3D-file, technical specifications, materials, 3D models, 2D drawings, PDF, Microsoft Office documents, TIFF and GIF graphic files can easily be shared, accessed, switched between and hyperlinked. Thus, product designs can be shared and modified together with anyone – all without CAD software knowledge or access to a CAD system. Using .3D-format instead of the original CAD-files to distribute design data, the integrity of the organization’s intellectual property will be protected.
