STAR INFORMATIC Supports Open Spatial Enterprise

STAR INFORMATIC (Belgium) announces its commitment to the Open Spatial Enterprise approach for the native storage of data in Oracle Spatial and Locator format for both Oracle9i and Oracle Database 10g.
The latest release of the STAR ELEC suite of applications for the power industry, now proposes a native interaction (without any middleware involved) with Oracle Spatial for the storage and management of vector, raster, attribute and text data. STAR ELEC's commitment to the open spatial enterprise approach, advocated by major geospatial technology vendors Autodesk, Intergraph, Laser-Scan and Mapinfo, guarantees that the databases created and maintained by the STAR ELEC suite of applications may indeed be shared with client applications from the above-mentioned vendors.
Non-spatial data consistently being stored with an open spatial enterprise method will also be accessible by vendors that share this approach. Conversely, STAR ELEC will now be in a position to address databases established in Oracle Spatial by these vendors.
