SuperGIS Training Centre Established in Kuala Lumpur

To promote the latest GIS technologies and professionally train the next generation in creating a better world, Supergeo Technologies is cooperating with Geomatika University College (GUC), Malaysia, to establish a SuperGIS training centre. The experienced institution focuses mainly on geospatial industry education and research to support qualified scholars who have professional GIS-related expertise.

Located in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, and having a branch campus covering the country, GUC is one of the most important local GIS institutions, with over 4,000 students and 200 lecturers.

The SuperGIS training centre will not only provide students with advanced knowledge of GIS and SuperGIS software, but will also combine it with real-life cases to show how GIS technologies can be applied to different industries in practice. In addition, the centre will also support solution providers, geospatial consultancies and government officers in learning how to use SuperGIS in their work.

At GUC they are very pleased to collaborate with Supergeo to share GIS knowledge among more professionals in Malaysia. Dr Mohaizi Mohamad, president of GUC, said he expects this to create a win-win solution for local users and Supergeo alike.

Supergeo is honoured to establish the knowledge base at GUC, said Sarah Liu, sales and marketing director at Supergeo. The company will enhance technology transfer and provide the best training support for Geomatika, and hopes the establishment of the SuperGIS training centre will elevate the development of the GIS industry in Malaysia.
