SuperMap establishes Saudi office and signs agreement with NSG

Marking a significant step in advancing geospatial technology in Saudi Arabia, SuperMap signed a cooperation framework agreement with Neo Space Group (NSG), a wholly-owned satellite and space company under Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund. The signing ceremony took place in Riyadh on 25 February, attended by key representatives from both organizations.

The agreement aims to foster collaboration in the field of geographic information, supporting the development of Saudi Arabia’s geospatial technology sector and contributing to the realization of the kingdom’s ‘Vision 2030’ goals.

Local presence for enhanced collaboration

To strengthen its presence and support regional initiatives, SuperMap also established a local office in Saudi Arabia last month. This move underscores the company’s dedication to fostering long-term partnerships and driving innovation in the Middle East.

NSG is a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, and is quickly developing itself into a leading player in the satellite and space industry. The collaboration between SuperMap and NSG is expected to inject new energy into the development of geospatial technology in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East, paving the way for transformative solutions in sectors such as urban planning, environmental management and infrastructure development.

Strengthening geospatial capabilities

During the signing ceremony, Eng Abdulaziz Bin Suleiman Bin Abdulrahman Al-Faraj, CEO of NSG, emphasized the importance of the partnership. “Collaborating with SuperMap is a pivotal step in advancing Saudi Arabia’s geospatial industry and technological capabilities. We look forward to delivering innovative GIS solutions that will benefit not only Saudi Arabia but the broader Middle East region,” he stated.

While signing the agreement on behalf of his company, Mr Wang Haitao, vice president of SuperMap and president of its international division, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. He also highlighted SuperMap’s commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation. “We are excited to work with NSG to explore future directions in geospatial technology and contribute to the Kingdom’s technological advancement,” he said.
