TDK launches Tronics AXO314 high-dynamics MEMS accelerometer

TDK has introduced the AXO314, the latest addition to its Tronics AXO 300 series of accelerometers. Following the success of the AXO315, AXO305, and AXO301 models, the AXO314 is engineered for industrial use, providing high performance with a ±14g input range, even in environments prone to shock and vibration.

The AXO314 stands out due to TDK’s innovative closed-loop architecture, which ensures outstanding linearity and superior vibration rejection. This makes it a compact and cost-effective alternative to traditional quartz accelerometers, which are often bulkier and more expensive. Its low Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) profile makes it well-suited for demanding applications.

With a 1-year composite bias repeatability of just 1mg and a bias instability of 4µg, the AXO314 delivers precise acceleration measurements in challenging conditions. It is designed for systems that need to operate reliably and stably under harsh environments.

Multi-axis IMUs and INS

The AXO314 integrates smoothly with Tronics’ MEMS gyro GYPRO4300, using the same SMD J-lead package and 24-bit SPI interface. The AXO314’s compatibility with the MEMS gyro GYPRO4300 enables its integration into multi-axis Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS). It supports various applications such as land, sea, and air surveying, and is also suited for GNSS-assisted positioning in both aerial and ground vehicles.

The AXO314 complies with REACH and RoHS standards and is not subject to dual-use export controls. Like all Tronics’ MEMS inertial sensors, it comes factory-calibrated to ensure accurate performance over a wide temperature range. Additionally, it offers the option for raw data output, allowing for customized compensation strategies if needed.

Tronics Microsystems, a part of TDK’s Temperature & Pressure Sensors Business Group, specializes in MEMS inertial products. The company is focused on high-growth markets driven by digitalization and miniaturization, offering advanced solutions for industries such as aerospace, railway, energy and marine.
