Trimble and Worldsensing collaborate on wireless GNSS sensors
Trimble and Worldsensing have announced a new solution for long-term 3D ground and structural movement monitoring, integrating Trimble’s 4D Control (T4D) software with the Trimble GNSS Meter, powered by Worldsensing. This collaboration aims to address the challenges of land and structure instability, offering a more efficient and cost-effective monitoring option for the mining, construction, and infrastructure sectors.
The announcement was made just ahead of Intergeo in Stuttgart, Germany, and MINExpo in Las Vegas, indicating a significant moment for industry innovation.
The new system connects a GNSS Meter – featuring real-time kinematic (RTK) technology – with the T4D monitoring software. This combination allows for precise measurement of 3D surface movements directly on-site, with data processed and transmitted for real-time analysis. If movements exceed established thresholds, stakeholders are alerted, enabling timely responses.
Simplifying deployment
Key benefits of this solution include its ease of deployment, requiring minimal training for users to set up numerous sensors quickly. This efficiency reduces the time and costs typically associated with traditional GNSS monitoring systems while ensuring reliable performance over the long term. Furthermore, by utilizing wireless IoT technology, the solution lowers infrastructure costs by minimizing the need for extensive cabling and reducing maintenance requirements. It also consolidates the components needed, streamlining the overall system.
The GNSS Meter’s RTK technology delivers millimetric precision, making it suitable for a diverse range of projects and environments.
