Using Robot Dogs to Make Construction Sites Smarter

South Korean-based Hanhwa Engineering and Construction is deploying the latest innovative smart construction technology. “We are currently utilizing robot dogs with 3D scanners and augmented reality technology for the construction project in Seoul Station,” said Hanwha E&C CEO Kim Seung-mo. This is part of a rethink about how the company approaches construction projects.

The multi-complex construction project is a large-scale innovation that intends to transform unused railroad sites in the northern part of Seoul Station into a dynamic area with numerous facilities, such as commercial and cultural complexes. The scheme is worth approximately 2 trillion won (US$1.4 billion) and is expected to become the Coex of northern Seoul.
