YellowScan User Conference Programme Announced - 23/05/2017

YellowScan, a French manufacturer of imaging sensor systems, has announced the programme of its User Conference, which will be held from 29-30 June in Montpellier, southern France. The event (the Lidar for Drone Conference) will include demos and discussions about the company’s lightweight integrated Lidar systems and their technical specifications, the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) used for Lidar, and the data processing and analysis. Other key features are industry case studies and technical workshops.

The conference programme will be kicked off with a keynote speech delivered by Omar-Pierre Soubra, director of marketing at Trimble. The first day further includes several presentations and workshops; after lunch the attendees will move to the field for an urban zone survey, followed by a processing and analysis demo with Trimble Realworks. The formal part of day one will be finished with a round table on the theme of ‘What are the needs for Lidar in 2025?’ The panel will comprise Omar-Pierre Soubra, Michel Assenbaum (president of YellowScan), Dr Akira Kato of Chiba University and Wim van Wegen of GIM International. In the evening attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy wine tasting at Château de Flaugergues, followed by a dinner and jazz concert.

The second day of the conference will include a demonstration focused on forestry and several workshops on relevant topics such as data quality and how to manage large Lidar projects. Themes that will be covered during the sessions include power-line mapping and the monitoring of dust control and mitigation treatments. Also worth mentioning: the morning programme contains a demo on processing and analysis with LAStools.
