Robotic Total Station for Construction Industry

Topcon Positioning Systems has launched a new series of robotic total stations specifically designed and configured for the construction market. The new instruments are developed for applications such as stakeout and as a key component of a Local Positioning System, which is used for 3D machine control. Intermat Displays Remote Controlled Construction Equipment

Intermat in Paris (France) took place from 20 to 25 April 2009. This construction trade show had dedicated a great surface to building material and remote control of the vehicles. However this was impressive - and the huge number of visitors confirmed this - the GPS mainly was used for controlling machines, rather than surveying.   Some 'big names' were on the show, like Trimble and Sokkia/Topcon. Hexagon Acquires Construction Laser Company in France

Hexagon, the parent company of Leica Geosystems (Switzerland), has entered into an agreement to acquire all outstanding shares of the French group of companies GAMFI International (GAMFI group). The GAMFI group is a provider of laser tools and instrumentation that operates under different brands such as AGL, QBL and AGATEC.
