ESRI User Conference Thrilling

Last week, the Esri User Conference took place in the San Diego Conference Center (CA, USA). A week full of knowledge sharing, workshops, seminars, networking, award presentations and presentation of new products related to GIS and mapping techniques. ESRI Agreement with Shell

Building upon a successful multinational enterprise contract signed four years ago, ESRI (CA, USA) and Shell International Exploration and Production (The Netherlands) have agreed to expand their relationship. The two companies have decided to implement a comprehensive agreement under which Shell and all its affiliates worldwide can access all ESRI software products. Dedicated Shell staff and a network of ESRI distributor technical support centres are to cover the multiple time zones of Shell's global business. ESRI Northeast Africa Established

ESRI (CA, USA) has established ESRI Northeast Africa (ESRI NEA), which will allow the expansion of ESRI’s software distribution into Libya, Chad, and Sudan and will provide the support and services required by ESRI’s growing customer base in the region. According to Jack Dangermond, ESRI president, “ESRI Northeast Africa will be able to better serve our existing customer base with confident corporate support. ESRI Developer Network Program

ESRI (CA, USA) has announced the ESRI Developer Network (EDN), an annual subscription-based program. The objectives of the program include providing developers with GIS tools and resources based on the ArcGIS platform. EDN subscriptions are available to all developer customers, not just ESRI business partners. An annual subscription provides a library of software for developing and testing applications and a collaborative developer Web site for use by both ESRI developers and program subscribers that is the portal to all things of interest to an ArcGIS developer. Esri Adds Maptel

Esri, USA, has announced that Maptel, Australia, has joined its organisation. The addition of Maptel, who has been the developer for Esri’s ArcPad software for several years, will strengthen Esri’s field data collection capabilities and its overall mobile platform. Maptel has worked side-by-side with Esri for many years, according to Elvin Slavik, lead developer and co-founder, Maptel. ESRI (CA, USA) has released ArcReader 9.2. ArcReader is a free, easy-to-use desktop mapping application that allows users to view, navigate, and print maps and globes created with the ArcGIS Publisher extension.
