GeoEye-1 Imagery for GoogleGeoEye has started delivering Google with high-resolution, colour satellite imagery from its newest satellite. The GeoEye-1 satellite images currently highlighted by Google were all taken within the last sixty days, and include images of the Pyramids of Giza, Mount Fuji, Sydney Australia, and many other recognisable locations. The images were all taken from 423 miles in space as GeoEye-1 moved around the Earth at 17,000 miles per hour. GEO Business 2017: Day Two

The last session of the conference Day One included a presentation on cyber security. Like health and safety, much of this topic is obvious - when you think about it. Conference Programme Launched for GEO Business 2015

GEO Business 2015, which takes place at the Business Design Centre in London from 27-28 May 2015, has unveiled its conference programme. As the UK’s biggest geospatial event, the conference attracted a high standard of submissions when it issued a call for papers at the end of last year. Over 170 abstracts were received from authors representing 28 countries in total. Lively Icebreaker at GEO Business 2017

The GEO Business Pre-Show Welcome Drinks were well-attended on Monday evening. The Radicals and Victuallers bar, just a few doors down from the Business Design Centre in London, once again proved an excellent venue for an informal get-together. Attendees received a very warm and enthusiastic welcome, helping to get GEO Business 2017 off to a lively start. It was the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones before getting down to some serious business during the event itself. GEO Business Conference Spanning the Spectrum

In his introduction to the GEO Business 2017 conference, Conference Chairman Stephen Eglinton announced that this would be “a conference spanning the spectrum of geospatial activities”. So, looking back at the first day, did the GEO Business organising committee manage to deliver? The first session certainly spanned national mapping, remote sensing and GIS. Ordnance Survey (OS) CEO Nigel Clifford opened his keynote, entitled ‘Geospatial: Innovation, Integration and Impact’, with the comforting thought that geospatial in Britain is actually in pretty good shape. GEO Business 2017 Reaches the Halfway Mark

By noon on Tuesday, the first day of GEO Business 2017, the organising team had proudly announced a 29% increase in visitors compared with last time. The exhibition area is bustling with geomatics professionals and is characterised by a positive vibe, excellent networking opportunities and lots of innovative new survey and mapping solutions on display. GEO Business 2017 Reports Record Attendance

London was the capital of the geospatial world last month when GEO Business returned to the Business Design Centre in Islington (from 23-24 May) to showcase the best new products, services and solutions of the year. The UK’s biggest geospatial exhibition and conference enjoyed its fourth year of significant growth, serving up 2,386 attendees to its 200 exhibitors – a 19% increase in visitors from 2016 and a 50% increase since the show was launched in 2014. GEO Business 2016 Launches Workshop Programme
