Maptek has released version 3.5 of its laser scan modelling software I-Site Studio. The release coincides with the launch of a dedicated geotechnical module, guaranteed to have site geologists keen to try it out for mapping and analysis. While basic I-Site Studio 3.5 users can query dip and strike, the new module has more extensive tools enabling users to easily monitor changes in surfaces such as walls, batters and faces. Maptek Wins Grant to Expand Production

Mining industry technical solutions provider Maptek has been awarded a $975,000 grant which will enable it to quadruple production of its I-Site 3D laser scanners. A total of 27 new jobs are expected to be created in Maptek's South Australian-based operation over the next six years as a result of the grant. With matching Maptek funding, the project is valued at $1,950,000. Eureka modelling software from 3D visualisation technology developer Maptek is being applied to the construction of a multi-billion transport infrastructure project in Qatar. The infrastructure project, managed by Qatar Rail, will create a rapid transit network consisting of light rail, the metro system and high-speed trains between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Maptek expertise and software has played a key role in capturing and digitally preserving Aboriginal rock art in Kakadu National Park for the CyArk 500 challenge. New SR3 Underground Laser Scanner from Maptek

Maptek has launched its new I-Site SR3 600m range laser scanner, developed to become the mine measurement standard for underground operations, both for general underground survey and detailed geological face mapping. The SR3 follows the extra long range XR3 and long range LR3, which came onto the market in 2017.
