GRACE has taken delivery of a Spirent GSS8000 hardware simulation system, replacing an earlier GSS7700 GPS system. Lidar and Robotics for Smithsonian

Velodyne Lidar (USA) has donated two Lidar sensors and two other objects showcasing advancements in robotic technology to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History in Washington, DC. Donated by David S. New Zealand Industries Trial Advanced GPS Technologies

Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) has kicked off a trial to look at how the country's industries could benefit from the latest satellite positioning technologies. Between now and early 2019, LINZ will be putting a satellite-based augmentation system (SBAS) to the test across 10 key industries. The first New Zealand-based project is already underway with Christchurch-based location data intelligence consultancy, Orbica partnered with Reveal Infrastructure. Here, the authors present a trolley-based system equipped with laser scanners, cameras and advanced software aimed at creating, visualising, navigating through and exploring detailed and accurate 3D models of indoor spaces.
