SBG Systems Launches MEMS Inertial Navigation System

SBG Systems has launched the Apogee Series, an accurate inertial navigation system based on the robust and cost-effective MEMS technology. The Apogee Series is also the smallest and lightest inertial navigation system at this level of accuracy. This INS/GNSS integrates the very latest generation of MEMS sensors and tri-frequency GNSS receivers. Apogee achieves 0.008° in roll and pitch in real-time, and 0.005° in post-processing. With two antennas, it delivers a robust and accurate heading. SBG SYSTEMS manufactures inertial systems from the concept to the production. The Apogee benefits from the company’s high level of expertise in integrated design, IMU calibration,... (read more)

SBG Introduces Software for Road Stakeout

SBG (Sweden) has released Stringline model software which produces a complete 3D model representing any type of road. It is an all new reference type that uses parallel stringlines. The Stringline model can be used across all three SBG platforms allowing for easy stakeout and machine control; Geo - Office software, Geopad - Field software and Georog - Machine control software. The new Stringline model will improve productivity when working in the field. New graphical views: - Graphical display of cross sections and the buildup layer- Graphical display of special slope - You may lock to a cross section or individual stringline by... (read more)

SBG Systems Releases Virtual Base Station Feature in Qinertia

SBG Systems is introducing the Virtual Base Station feature in its in-house post-processing software called Qinertia. Geospatial professionals benefit from an optimal centimetric position accuracy in all their projects, even for corridor mapping and in poorly covered RTK areas. Qinertia is SBG Systems’ in-house GNSS and INS post-processing software. It gives access to offline RTK corrections from more than 7,000 base stations located in 164 countries. Trajectory and orientation are then greatly improved by processing inertial data and raw GNSS observables in forward and backward directions. Corridor survey accuracy Qinertia PPK software now includes a brand new Virtual Base Stations... (read more)

The Challenge of Change

SBG, a Sweden-based privately owned company, designs and manufactures software and hardware for survey, design, and machine-control applications. Since its inception in 1970 the company has provided surveying tools for the office, package solutions for field surveying equipment, and systems for machine control. SBG started out at a time when surveying and machine control in Sweden was somewhat in its infancy. The company, and indeed the entire field of surveying, has come a long way since then. But whereas methods and technology may have changed, the vision and commitment to quality and innovation that propels the company forward has remained... (read more)
