GIS Training Course

Southern Mapping Company (SMC, South Africa) recently concluded a five-day GIS training course for the Northern Cape Department of Social Development. SMC were tasked with the geocoding of existing social services in the province, which included Centres for Crime Support, Disability, Early Childhood Development (ECD), HIV and youth development as well as food gardens, soup kitchens and all social service grant pay points. The National Spatial Data Infrastructure of Indonesia can potentially discover and map spatial and metadata managed by various national agencies and institutions and could be mobilised as a useful decision-support tool, helping agencies prepare and reduce the risks of urban disaster. SuperGeo Technologies has completed a SuperGIS training programme in Kuwait at end of December 2010 for Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR).
