Geographic information provider Blom ASA (Norway) and digital maps and dynamic content provider Tele Atlas have announced a five year agreement focused on speeding up the development of 3D city maps and elevation models and on creating imagery products for personal and in car navigation, Internet and mobile solutions users. The Ecosystems Atlas of South America and Antarctica is an educational programme for primary-school pupils. Software is distributed free to South American institutions that develop educational activities relating to the environment. Tele Atlas Enhances Digital Maps

Tele Atlas (The Netherlands) and GlobeXplorer (CA, USA) have signed a reseller agreement that enables Tele Atlas partners and customers to enhance the richness of their digital map-based applications by incorporating high- resolution aerial and satellite imagery into their solutions. Garmin Bid for Tele Atlas

Garmin Ltd. has announced a €2.3 billion ($3.3 billion) offer for Tele Atlas. Tomtom earlier made an offer of €2 billion for the company in July. Garmin has notified the supervisory and managing boards of Tele Atlas of its intention to make a public offer for all the outstanding shares of Tele Atlas N.V. on a fully diluted basis at an indicative offer price of €24.50 in cash per share. Tele Atlas (Belgium) has established a new company, Tele Atlas RUS. With headquarters in Moscow, Tele Atlas RUS will assume the databases and all activities of Navmaps, Russia's leading provider of navigation maps. The new company will strengthen Tele Atlas' operations in Russia and increase its direct interaction with suppliers and with Roskartographia, the Federal Agency of Geodesy and Cartography. Tele Atlas Coverage of Seven African Countries

Tele Atlas (The Netherlands) has announced a license and distribution agreement with MapIT (Pty) Ltd., based in Pretoria, Republic of South-Africa.
