Intergeo Digital 2020: A Geospatial Community First

A Pioneering Online-only Gathering of the International Geo-IT Industry
Despite having to improvise, this year’s pioneering digital edition of Intergeo has received a lot of positive feedback. It became the international geospatial industry’s first-ever online-only event after the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the live edition from being held in Berlin from 13-15 October as planned. With its high thematic relevance, an interactive and stable online platform succeeded in bringing together members of the geomatics community, even during the current pandemic. A huge number of exhibitors, visitors, speakers and conference attendees seized the opportunity to participate in the fully digital event. First European 3D Documentation Conference

FARO Europe is launching a series of events on the theme of 3D laser scanning with the 3D Documentation Congress. The opening event will take place in Essen on 17th and 18th May 2011 at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Zollverein coal mine industrial complex. 3D laser scanning is suitable for a wide range of applications: for quickly and reliably recording existing structures or damaged buildings, for surveying and taking stock of monuments, at archaeological excavations, in plant construction and in forensic reconstruction. GEO-11 Bucks Industry Trend

The organisers of GEO-11, UK, have released visitor numbers from the event. Despite many industry events experiencing a marked downturn in attendance GEO-11 maintained visitor numbers at a level achieved in both 2010 and 2009. FOSS4G-Europe Welcomes Contributions

Two Days Full of 3D Measuring

On 13 and 14 February 2013, the annual ‘Oldenburger 3D-Tage’ event took place in the northern German city of Oldenburg, attracting some 200 experts from the whole of Germany and neighbouring countries. Participants could enjoy a total of 56 presentations as well as an exhibition where relevant companies showcased the latest developments, research results and applications of the optical 3D measuring technique. Lidar Forum Dates Set

Following on from the previous success of both the European Lidar Mapping Forum and the International Lidar Mapping Forum, the organisers have now set the dates for the next edition of both events. ELMF will be returning to Salzburg, Austria, from 4th to 5th December 2012, and ILMF will be returning to Denver, Colorado in the US from 11th to 13th February 2013.
