Earth Remote Sensing Achievements Recognised

The U.S. Geological Survey and NASA have presented the 2012 William T. Pecora Awards for achievements in Earth remote sensing to Gilberto C├ómara of Brazil's National Institute for Space Research (INPE) and Leung Tsang of the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. Câmara was recognised for his contributions to remote-sensing leadership as a scientist, programme director, manager and agency head. Tsang is one of the world's leading experts on the theory of microwave remote sensing for geophysical environments. Sanborn Announces Remote Sensing Project PAG

Sanborn (CO, USA) has announced that the company has been selected to provide GIS topographic mapping services for Pima Association of Governments (PAG), a Arizona, USA-based coalition of local, state and tribal governments that assists its members and the public with regional planning issues. Remote Sensing Study of Georgia Rangelands

Environment Systems has won a contract to carry out a study of the condition of the Georgia Rangelands using satellite imagery and its own established <a href="">remote sensing</a> expertise. The study is being undertaken under the Alliances Programme run by Mercy Corps and funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
