Exploring the Aleph-1 Constellation: multiple global daily revisits, expanded spectral capacities and increased access for the EU
AIRDATE: 18 March 2021
In 2020, European Space Imaging became the founding member of the Satellogic Global Consortium, an initiative to streamline access to imagery for decision makers all over the world. Through this partnership, European Space Imaging has expanded their satellite portfolio to include multispectral imagery with a resolution 0.7 - 1m as well as hyperspectral imagery from the recently launched Aleph-1 Constellation. The inclusion of this data now gives the company access to 25 orbiting satellites ranging from 0.3 - 1 m with a combined daily revisit of close to 10 times a day.
The panel was moderated by Aravind Ravichandran, Founder of TerraWatch Space, and consisted of Thomas VanMatre, Vice-President of Global Business Development at Satellogic and Pascal Schichor, Sales Director at European Space Imaging. During the session they discussed the capacities of the NuSat satellites including their global coverage and rapid revisits, how the imagery can complement 30 cm data, as well as the future planned satellite launches with SpaceX by Satellogic. They explored the future of Earth Observation through the power of hyperspectral imagery, what it is, the benefits of this data and how you can access it. The unique benefits of the European Space Imaging / Satellogic partnership for the European market is also demonstrated.
GEOSeries
GEOSeries is a virtual event program created by European Space Imaging to explore topics related to remote sensing and Earth Observation. It brings together professionals from all aspects of the geospatial industry as well as those working within the vertical applications. The aim of the program is not only educate and inspire the industry, but to also spread the word of how satellite imagery and other geospatial products are being used to make the world a better place.
