Esri Press Honoured by Association of American Geographers

Esri Press was honoured with the prestigious AAG Publication Award at the Association of American Geographers Annual Meeting on 12 April. Past recipients include the University of Chicago Press and Rand McNally and Company. The AAG newsletter stated that this AAG Publication Award has been conferred on Esri in recognition of exceptional and outstanding contributions to geography through a vigorous and prolific publication programme.

Esri Press is a department within Esri, the leading developer of GIS software. The department was created in 1984 and since then has published more than 100 books on geography-related topics, including specialised map books, textbooks, and books about the science and application of GIS technology. In addition, it has reissued cartography classics including Arthur Robinson's The Look of Maps: An Examination of Cartographic Design, Eduard Imhof's Cartographic Relief Presentation, and Jacques Bertin's Semiology of Graphics: Diagrams, Networks, Maps.
