GNSS Network RTK Rover for Land Survey Applications

Spectra Precision has today introduced the new ProMark 700 GNSS receiver to meet the evolving needs of the land survey market. The new ProMark 700 is specifically designed for network RTK applications. The ProMark 700 receiver can be used with Spectra Precision field software: either Survey Pro v5.2.1 or FAST Survey v3.1. Both field software applications provide a complete set of features that meet the demanding expectations of professional surveyors and are optimised for RTK network surveys. Weighing only 650 grams (1.4 pounds), the ProMark 700 is among the lightest GNSS RTK smart antenna available on the market today. Its light... (read more)

Harxon Launches Smart eRadio Solution for RTK Applications

Harxon has introduced the smart eRadio from its radio modem series, a long-range and power-efficient solution designed to support high-precision GNSS RTK applications in surveying and precision agriculture. Harxon eRadio is enabled with intelligent serial baud rate identification for different RTK devices. It can automatically identify RTK serial baud rate with a radio data cable and is available in a plug-and-play form for easy connection between the eRadio and RTK. Due to the high transmitting power from 5W to 35W, transmission data can be up to 19,200bps/s over a connection distance of between 50 and 80 kilometres, depending on the... (read more)

New OEMV Products and GPS+Glonass AdVance RTK Positioning Technology

NovAtel Inc. (Canada) has launched its new OEMV-1G and FlexPak-V1G products with GPS+Glonass positioning solutions. Also, full GPS+Glonass AdVance RTK (Real Time Kinematic) positioning capabilities are available on all existing OEMV-2 and OEMV-3 products via its 3.2 firmware release. These latest Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) products and firmware support NovAtel’s strategy to continue to develop GPS augmented solutions that offer a compelling price/performance advantage for customers. NovAtel’s new GPS+Glonass positioning technology provides significant improvement in satellite coverage, which enables reliable positioning and precise navigation even in obstructed environments where GPS only receivers may be limited by poor satellite availability.... Real-time RTK-quality Velocity Accurary Without Base-station

Customers of OxTS, the British inertial navigation and GPS/GNSS manufacturer, can now benefit from velocity measurements approaching 1cm/s accuracy and a slip angle accuracy of 0.1° RMS at high speed – without the need for a base-station. This achievement is thanks to the new gxInteger algorithm and the way OxTS products utilise both GNSS and inertial measurements. This development means customers that want real-time RTK-quality velocity and orientation measurements, but don’t require 2cm position accuracy, no longer need to spend time and money setting up a base-station and have more freedom in selecting test sites. Automotive customers benefit most directly... (read more)

Septentrio Launches New GNSS RTK Technology for Surveyors

Septentrio has introduced its next-generation high-precision Altus APS3G RTK receiver, which – according to the Belgian company – brings technology only previously available in scientific receivers into the field for professional surveyors. The new multi-constellation APS3G addresses major concerns about compatibility with new satellite constellations, as well as interference and jamming, Neil Vancans, vice president of Septentrio Americas, said. Built on Septentrio’s AsteRx4 engine, the APS3G tracks all-in-view GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, IRNSS, SBAS, Galileo and QZSS, including E6/L6, and all other signals known to be available in the medium term. Jammer resistance The APS3G incorporates Septentrio’s AIM technology with three... (read more)

Surveying UAS for Use with RTK Base Stations

Topcon Positioning Group and MAVinci have announced that the latest version of the Sirius Pro surveying unmanned aerial system (UAS) is designed to be compatible with existing real time kinematic (RTK) base stations or network transport of RTCM data over IP (NTRIP). The system will be available at the Intergeo trade show for geodesy in October and thereafter. The Topcon and MAVinci UAS was first introduced at Intergeo 2013 for the European market and was recently made available in the North American market. By connecting an external base station, Sirius Pro will receive the RTCM correction signals and deliver 2-5... (read more)

Klau Geomatics Launches PPK Software for Phantom4 RTK UAV

Klau Geomatics, specialised in PPK hardware and post-processing software, recently announced its new PPK software for the DJI Phantom4 RTK drone. The software enables professional users to achieve the most accurate and reliable results with their P4RTK drone without running it in RTK mode. RTK requires continuous communication between the drone and base station, limiting the operational range and data quality. PPK does not require any real-time connection to the base. Not only does this method save users the time and trouble of setting up a base station, but the data collected is complete, no losses due to communications links,... (read more)
