Canada's geospatial community is gearing up for the country's inaugural national geospatial exposition. The GoGeomatics Expo is scheduled to take place from 6-8 November at the iconic Calgary Stampede grounds.
"The idea for the expo really came around the fact that we don't have a marquee national event that showcases the best of geomatics and Canada to the world," stated Jonathan Murphy, founder and managing director of GoGeomatics. "The geo sector is a big tent, and the Expo is designed to serve that broad community. It's not just for surveyors or GIS professionals; it's for anyone leveraging geospatial technology, from those involved in monitoring and asset mapping to reality capture and more."
Distinguished experts and leading-edge product showcase
The GoGeomatics Expo's highlights encompass speaking programmes featuring renowned experts in the geospatial field who will share their insights on industry trends, challenges and future opportunities. Thought-provoking panel discussions will unite experts from various sectors to delve into how geospatial technology is shaping industries across Canada. The discussion themes include reality capture/digital twins, Earth observation, BIM/GIS, surveying, leadership, education, government and geomatics for climate resiliency.
Also noteworthy is the trade show, where attendees will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge geospatial products, solutions and services from engineering firms, product and software developers, navigation specialists, satellite experts and more. Demos and workshops will enable participants to enhance their skills and knowledge in geospatial tools, data analysis and geographic information systems (GIS).
Co-located with the expo is the GeoIgnite Career Fair, where Canada's leading organizations will recruit from a diverse pool of professionals, including students and graduates from the expo's Education Partners, the University of Calgary, and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).
The GoGeomatics Expo fosters collaboration and will spotlight the latest advancements in the geospatial sector. This community-driven event provides a platform for professionals to connect, exchange ideas and stay informed about the latest developments in research, technologies and services.
Mamatha Sanapala, an expo committee member, affirms: "For me, the GoGeomatics Expo provides exposure to the latest trends in Canadian geomatics. I also believe these kinds of events encourage the sharing of knowledge, new ideas and innovations that lead to new solutions. And the opportunity to network in the community will be invaluable."
Registration for the GoGeomatics Expo is now open. For more information about the event, please visit the official GoGeomatics Expo website at: www.gogeomaticsexpo.com.
