ESRI Agreement with Shell

Building upon a successful multinational enterprise contract signed four years ago, ESRI (CA, USA) and Shell International Exploration and Production (The Netherlands) have agreed to expand their relationship. The two companies have decided to implement a comprehensive agreement under which Shell and all its affiliates worldwide can access all ESRI software products. Dedicated Shell staff and a network of ESRI distributor technical support centres are to cover the multiple time zones of Shell's global business. Shell uses GIS technology to integrate and visualise complex business information from many different sources and to produce cartographic maps of its assets, operations and environments. The company's GIS framework is currently being extended to form a corporate spatial data infrastructure within which any authorised user on the corporate intranet will have access to a one-stop portal integrating GIS layers, documents and company databases.
