Italian Xmarc Contract Expanded

The Società Generale d’Informatica S.p.A. (SOGEI), a division of the Italian Ministry of Finance, has renewed and expanded its use of Xmarc. The contract renewal for approximately € 300,000 provides for the maintenance of SOGEI internet and intranet deployment of its Web-enabled Geographic Information System (WEGIS). The application runs on 225 servers throughout Italy. Xmarc Enterprise Suite 6.1, hosted on an Oracle 9i data management system with Oracle Spatial technology, provides the platform for the national land database, managing all land transactions while maintaining high levels of data security. PlanGraphics provides support for SOGEI through Xmarc Ltd (UK), its wholly owned European subsidiary.
