Leica Geosystems Introduces Three New Software Versions

Leica Geosystems (Switzerland) has introduced new versions of its three software solutions: GNSS QC, Leica GOS Spider, and Leica GeoMoS.

The new version 1.3 of Leica GNSS QC, a stand-alone software that can run alongside Leica GPS Spider or other reference station software to perform automatic quality checking and reporting of the logged RINEX data. Leica GNSS QC V1.3 contains numerous improvements that enhance the user’s work flow through additional controls and graphical output. The quality check now gives more satellite constellation specific performance indicators and testing which will help in the management of mixed GPS/Glonass reference stations. The new version also adds support for Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. With V1.3, GNSS QC now has the ability to connect the Leica Nivel200 family of inclination sensors in addition to the GNSS monitoring features available previously. The new version also integrates the Customer Care Program concept for customer support and software maintenance helping to ensure continuing customer satisfaction.

Leica GPS Spider, which was the first solution in the market to fully support the new RTCM V3.1 standard for Network RTK, has in V2.3.0 been further improved. Amongst software optimisations, GPS Spider now supports fully redundant site set-up to satisfy the highest demands of reliability. Customers have the choice to either operate with a secondary backup communication line (channel) that can be automatically used as fallback in case a primary line fails; or they can even set-up a secondary receiver with independent communication, allowing for maximum redundancy, reliability and availability. An enhanced communication channel status reporting complements this feature. Furthermore the raw data quality control has been enhanced to now fully support quality checking of all incoming raw data streams and also to independently apply limit checks for Glonass data as is already available for GPS.  Further improvements in software architecture and performance allow to increase by more than 100% the number of stations the software can manage and process using a single computer.

Leica GeoMoS, upgraded to v3.0, is an open, scalable and customisable software suitable for a wide range of monitoring applications. Version 3.0 includes a range of improvements for the two main applications, Monitor and Analyzer, and introduces a new product structure and licensing concept, making Leica GeoMoS economical for both small and large monitoring projects. A new product structure makes the Leica GeoMoS software highly customisable, allowing customers to purchase only the functionality they require. The basic GeoMoS Monitor application works like an engine and can be expanded to include total station computations, limit checks and messaging. The new sensor license concept means that the software scales with the number and type of sensors that are connected. Additional sensor licenses or software options can easily be added later should the needs of the project change. With this new structure, Leica GeoMoS is a highly flexible and customisable software that is suitable and affordable for both large and small, simple and complex monitoring projects.
