Leica Integrates TS and GPS

Leica Geosystems (Switzerland) has introduced SmartStation, the newest member of its TPS1200 product family, offering high-performance total station with fully integrated GPS functionality. All existing TPS1200 instruments can be easily upgraded to SmartStation. With the entire software in the total station, all TPS and GPS operations are controlled via the TPS keyboard. All data is stored in a single database on the same CompactFlash card. The modular design enables use of total station and GPS in combination as well as separately. The GPS determines the total station’s position and once positioned the SmartAntenna GPS can be removed and used as a separate RTK rover, together with RX1210 controller and GTX1230 sensor.
