The module is equivalent to 4 credits, or approximately 40 classroom hours. Single module attendance is encouraged.

The course will cover the main topics involved in the modern digital Photogrammetry workflow, from the acquisition up to the product generation. The basic concepts for the interpretation of digital images will be reviewed, from orientation to aerial triangulation. Then, the possibilities, realities and promises for the automatic and semi-automatic derivation of elevations and object extraction will be discussed, including an overview of the commercial market place.

The course is aimed at:

  • any one enrolled in the International M.SC. in ASPRS
  • engineers and technical personnel who wish to become acquainted with recent developments in the field of Digital Photogrammetric System
  • managers or technical personnel involved in Digital Photogrammetry who need to improve their skills to specify and evaluate this kind of systems
  • satellite remote sensing specialists who wish to be introduced in modern airborne sensor technologies.

A technical or scientific background is advisable. Knowledge of basic concepts of photogrammetry and geodesy is assumed.

The course is held at the Institut de Geomatica in Spain, from 30 May to 3 June 2005, 8.30 till 18.00 hours. More information is to be found at the website: www.ideg.es.
