New Capabilities for IAS in IAS 3.0

ITT Visual Information Solutions (CO, USA) has released Image Access Solutions (IAS) 3.0, its family of COTS software products used for delivering, accessing, and managing large geospatial images and metadata. IAS 3.0 introduces an updated architecture built to comply with the most recent JPEG 2000 and JPEG 2000 Internet Protocol (JPIP) standards, as well as numerous usability and general improvements to both the IAS Server and IAS Viewer.

The IAS solution allows users in remote locations, such as deployed military personnel and disaster relief workers, to receive and view images and metadata, even over networks with limited bandwidth that cannot stream large images effectively using traditional images and image transfer technology.

Additional updated features in IAS 3.0 include a quiet shutdown mechanism for the IAS Server, which allows the server to block new client connections until the current connections are terminated, and numerous updates to IAS Viewer features, such as local and remote file access, display of image metadata, including NITF, coordinate display of the geolocation from the image, and a save to Windows clipboard option.

The IAS product family consists of the IAS Server/Converter for compressing, storing and disseminating images and metadata, as well as the IAS Viewer, which allows the user to stream JPEG 2000 images with progressive rendering.
