POINT, Inc. Names New President

Shigeyuki Sawaguchi has been named president of POINT, Inc. His previous position was vice president of business development. As president, Sawaguchi will provide his product knowledge, international business experience and new vision to further the development of Sokkia GPS products around the world.

Prior to joining POINT in December 2005, Sawaguchi served as general manager of marketing and product planning for Sokkia Co., Ltd. (Japan). He began his career with Sokkia in 1980, holding a number of senior management positions within the company’s research and development group. Sawaguchi currently serves on the POINT board of directors.

POINT, Inc. was formed in August of 1999 as a joint venture company of Sokkia Company, Ltd., Atsugi, Japan, and NovAtel, Inc., Calgary, Alberta. POINT, Inc. develops and markets advanced GPS products for the surveying, mapping and construction.
