Saudi Arabia Installs iCGRS

The Spatial Information System (S.I.S) Group in Saudi Arabia has bought fourteen Thales (CA, USA) internet-enabled Continuous Geodetic Reference Stations (iCGRS) fitted with choke ring antennas, and three Thales Z-Max survey systems. The iCGRS systems will enable the S.I.S. Group to install a reference station network in Saudi Arabia for seismic research and land management projects. With its Internet capabilities, iCGRS can be integrated with a Wide Area Network. The Z-Max survey systems will be used to survey six hundred important topographical points in order to establish accurate geodesic markers, making the primary network denser.
