ScanEx Closed Loop Operational Radar Data

In March 2007, R&D Center ScanEx signed a reseller agreement with INFOTERRA GmbH (incorporated into EADS Astrium GmbH) for the distribution of TerraSAR-X radar data and its end-products.

In the same month ScanEx signed a license agreement with Eurimage S.p.A. for the direct reception and commercial distribution of C-band ENVISAT-1 radar data by the ground stations in Moscow and Magadan. In addition to RADARSAT-1, this real-time radar data program supplies all-weather round-the-clock images at resolution from 1 km to 28 meters. In May ScanEx's UniScan technology was successfully certified for the reception and processing of ENVISAT-1 data. On May 25, 2007 ScanEx signed an agreement on the distribution of ENVISAT-1 data supplied by Eurimage S.p.A. for the region beyond the Moscow and Magadan stations coverage. ScanEx Center also started the commercial project on oil spills monitoring in Caspian Sea using RADARSAT-1 and ENVISAT-1 radar data.

R&D Center ScanEx together with MDA Geospatial Services Inc. has a framework agreement that they will sign RADARSAT-2 satellite data distribution contract once it is launched this summer. Its predecessor - RADARSAT-1 - put into orbit back in 1995, is functioning properly and delivering high quality images. ScanEx Center equipped 10 ground stations in Russia and Kazakhstan with the firmware allowing for this kind of data reception. Signing an agreement on the new generation satellite data distribution will be the result of multiyear mutual cooperation between MDA Geospatial Services Inc. and R&D Center ScanEx. RADARSAT-2 satellite will enable to get unique images.
