Spectra Adds to its Optical Survey Solutions and Field Software

Spectra Precision introduced during Intergeo several additions to the Spectra Precision FOCUS 30 line of optical survey solutions, the new LockNGo and StepDrive total stations and new features for the Spectra Precision Survey Pro field software.

The LockNGo instrument uses a passive tracking technique that constantly tracks the instrument to the range pole, improving efficiency by enabling the instrument to constantly lock onto the prism.

The speed of observation and precise positioning of all FOCUS 30 Total Station models is provided by StepDrive motion technology, which is used in the Robotic and LockNGo models and now available as a stand-alone instrument. StepDrive controls the horizontal and vertical motion of the motors, eliminating the need for traditional motion locks. Choosing the StepDrive solution can improve the user's observational accuracy enabling more precise angle measurements or field staking to be performed.

The FOCUS 30 solutions in Robotic, LockNGo and StepDrive are all available in 2", 3" or 5" accuracies and are controlled by the Spectra Precision Survey Pro field software using an onboard Windows CE touchscreen interface. The FOCUS 30 is also designed to be controlled externally by Spectra Precision data collectors.

Spectra Precision Survey Pro field software provides surveyors with a complete set of capabilities for a wide variety of survey and construction projects. Survey Pro version 4.10 includes several new features, amongst them LandXML Road schema support, for laying out engineering and road profile elements to improve the dataflow and efficiency on the road or construction site, and External Data Streaming for the output of measurement and positional data from Survey Pro in an XML output that allows the ability to adapt the data to localised needs.

In Survey Pro version 4.10, the Spectra Precision Solution Improvement Program enables a user to opt-in to provide information about how they are using their field software so that future enhancements and efficiencies can be identified and implemented.

Survey Pro software is offered in different modules so surveyors can begin with one module and easily add features as they need them. Advanced modules can be remotely installed via electronic upgrades. In addition, Survey Pro software is available in multiple languages and on a variety of data collector platforms.
