Street-level Mapping of Iraq and Other Countries

Kingswood MapMechanics (UK) has extended its range of digital road and street map data sets. Many of its data sets cover remote parts of the world. Afghanistan and Iraq are among the countries covered in the company's latest digital mapping releases. Iraqi data sets are particularly detailed, featuring street-level maps at 1:10,000 of a dozen main cities, including cartographic reference files for Baghdad and Basra, in addition to satellite imaging of all cities. Mapping of other smaller locations is also available. Other countries covered by the new mapping include Brazil, Cameroon, China, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Panama, Uruguay and Venezuela. The data sets include street-level mapping of capitals and other major cities at scales between 1:10,000 and 1:24,000, supported by smaller scale road map data sets.
As with the existing roducts, the new data is available in a range of file formats for GIS work, on-line mapping over the internet, hosted mapping offered by ASP (Application Service Provider) software houses and tracking/tele-matics applications.
