Swiss Distributor for Sokkia

As per January 1, 2007 Sokkia (The Netherlands) has appointed the company Swissat as its new distributor for Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Managing directors of Sokkia BV and Swissat agreed by officially signing the distributor contract.

Swissat, former Swiss distributor of Topcon, is located near Zurich in the village of Samstagern. The company started in 1979 as GeoAstor and became later on a 100% subsidiary of Swissphone AG. In 2004 the company was renamed into Swissat. Managing director is Dipl. Ing. Mr. Z. Kurtovic.

The company has four main activities. First of all, Swissat has a strong position in direct-sales of surveying products and accessories, where the sales by catalogue and e-commerce play a significant role. Swissat is known as the E-commerce supplier in the surveying market in Switzerland). Secondly, Swissat acts as a positioning provider for the Swiss surveying market through their own setup of a GPS/ Glonass reference network all over Switzerland. The third business concentrates on development of specific add-on surveying products and is constantly seeking for surveying innovations. One interesting creative outcome is their recently developed Super Pole; this prism / GPS pole does no longer require to be set up vertically. The fourth activity handles adequate service and repair of multi-brand surveying equipment in its fully equipped service centre.
