Topcon Announces Digital Imaging Total Station

Topcon (CA, USA) announces the GPT-7000i Digital Imaging Total Station. Topcon's new DIM (Digital Imaging Measurement) technology enables the operator to view a real-time image of the target object on the display of the on-board computer - just as viewed through the lens. The image can be used to guide field data collection, and then saved for use at later time. Topcon's new companion software, PI 3000, enables continued analysis and measurement of the target image with a desktop PC. Functionality can be extended by combining images with a position-linked high-resolution digital camera.
Topcon's 7000 Series instruments feature on-board computers with Windows CE operating systems, a touch screen display and a graphical interface. Dual-optical, pulse laser design provides focused beam accuracy on long distance measurements - up to 250 metres reflectorless, and up to 3,000 metres with a prism. Features include a compact flash card slot that can be used for additional memory or a Bluetooth card for wireless communications.
