USA and Russia Discuss GPS-GNSS Co-operation
The USA and the Russian Federation intend to begin preliminary discussions on an agreement for co-operation between the GPS and Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS). Both countries intend to work together to maintain compatibility and promote interoperability of the two systems. To this end, both sides intend to establish working groups on matters of development and use of GLONASS and GPS and their respective augmentations. Delegations of the two governments met in Washington DC last December to continue discussions on matters relating to this co-operation.
