Intermap Technologies has signed an agreement valued at USD1.2 million to provide a leading wireless telecommunications company with 3D digital terrain maps for all of Germany and significant portions of surrounding border countries. The countrywide NEXTMap digital terrain models (DTMs) and digital surface models (DSMs) will enable the optimisation of existing wireless networks and give the customer the ability to perform advanced radio network planning in support of new antennae placement for their customer base throughout the country. Navteq Unveils DTM, Satellite Imagery

Navteq (IL, USA) has launched Digital Terrain Model and Satellite Imagery which enable richer, more realistic map display in location-based and navigation applications. These are in addition to NAVTEQ's 2D Landmark Footprints, Enhanced 2D Footprints, 3D City Models and 3D Landmark products. New Romanian Geoportal Provides Quicker Access to Geospatial Data

The Romanian government’s Topographic Military Directorate (DTM) recently implemented a portal for geospatial data based on Esri technology. The DTM Geoportal is compliant with the established standards of Romania’s spatial data infrastructure (SDI) and joins the country’s other geospatial data portals including the Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe (INSPIRE) Geoportal and the INIS Geoportal. The new geoportal provides quicker access to critical geospatial data and greater collaboration among the agencies the DTM serves, such as the Romanian Ministry of Defence (MoD). SITIBSA Selects INPHO

SITIBSA, Serveis d’Informació Territorial de les Illes Balears (Spain), with their headquarters in Palma de Mallorca, have recently acquired the whole INPHO production line to fulfil their needs in terms of aerial triangulation, automatic DTM generation, DTM data editing, DTM interpolation and derived products, ortho-rectification and mosaicking. The delivery also includes two Summit Evolution stereo workstations for digital mapping. The contract negotiations and system delivery was done by GTBibérica S.L., Madrid (Spain), INPHO’s distributor in the Iberian and Latin American sales regions, after winning a tender that was published in September 2005. New DTMaster Software from INPHO

INPHO (Germany) has launched new DTMaster software for checking, editing, visualising and classifying 3D point cloud data. The software offers a variety of tools for quality control. Additionally, with its layer-oriented data structure, DTMaster can handle DTM data of more than 10 million points at a time. Visual data checking is possible in mono, and optionally in stereo, by over-laying DTM data with georeferenced raster data such as image mosaics or digital maps. The software has been designed for checking, editing, visualisation and classification of 3D point cloud data generated e.g. by LIDAR systems or MATCH-T software.
