Shale Reservoir Characterisation

CGGVeritas has developed an integrated geophysical approach to characterising shale gas reservoirs, based on pre-stack azimuthal seismic data analysis calibrated with well log and core measurements to identify sweet spots. Relative production estimates across the reservoir may be derived by combining seismic estimates of lithological, geomechanical and stress properties, correlated to existing well measurements to predict porosity, volume of shale, carbonate content and water saturation. Airbus to Deliver 3D Urban Mapping Solution to PASCO

Airbus Defence and Space, the world’s second-largest space company, has signed a contract with PASCO, Japan, for the installation of the Street Factory 3D urban mapping solution at one of its Japanese production facilities, thereby completing PASCO’s Pixel Factory processing suite. Launched in July 2012, Street Factory is a fully integrated solution enabling rapid and fully automatic processing of images from any aerial or street camera for the generation of a 3D textured database. Boeing Wins US Air Force Bids

The US Air Force has awarded Boeing (MO, USA) two GPS IIF contract options valued at US$ 172.3 million. The first award is a US$ 143.9 million modification to the existing contract that exercises the option to begin production of three satellites to be completed by June 2008. A second contract for US$ 28.4 million exercises an option for long-lead hardware for the production of the next three GPS IIF satellites.
