Cartographic Conference

On 23 and 24 April 2009, a conference themed ‘Conference on Cartographic Challenges: movement, participation, risk' will be organised in Bergamo (Italy). ISPRS Technical Commission I SymposiumThe ISPRS Commission I Symposium took place at Calgary Convention centre from 15th to 18th June, in parallel with the first Canadian Geomatics Conference the theme of which was: Convergence in Geomatics - Shaping Canada's Competitive Landscape. The opening ceremony included an address by Professor Orhan Altan, ISPRS president. Plenary speeches were given by Glen Hodgson, vice-president and senior economist of the Conference Board of Canada, and Jim Garinger, former Governor of the State of Wyoming. ISPRS Conference Director Reports

During the General Assembly on Monday afternoon, Congress Director Lena Halounova reported on this event. This ISPRS Congress in Prague welcomed 2,294 participants from 88 countries. There were 710 contributions submitted by young authors. China was the country of origin of most delegates, followed by Germany and the host country, the Czech Republic. The exhibition that took place on the second floor during the first days counted 77 participating companies. That makes this ISPRS Congress a great place to share knowledge, learn, meet fellow scientists and professionals working with geospatial technology! (read more)

GSDI 12 World Conference

Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) advocates around the world seek to make optimum use of geospatial technologies to serve societal goals. The industry focal point for many of these activities is the Global SDI (GSDI) Association: an inclusive organisation of international organisations, agencies, firms and individuals promoting international cooperation and collaboration in support of local, national and international SDI developments.
