ISPRS Events Israel Postponed

Because of the tentions in the Middle West, the ISPRS Council has decided to postpone the "7th Joint ICA/EuroGeographic International Workshop on Incremental Updating & Versioning" and "Commission VIII Symposium 'Remote Sensing Applications for a Sustainable Future" both planned to be held beginning September in Haifa, Israel. Both events are postponed until further notice. (read more)

GIS-Pro 2011 Events

A number of events will be featured at GIS-Pro 2011: URISA's 49th Annual Conference taking place from 1st to 4th November 2011 in Indianapolis, USA. An 'All Things Geospatial' evening, Ignite session, Lightning Talks, an OpenStreetMap Lab, Esri Technical Workshops and User Group Meeting, and a DevMeetUp are all scheduled this year. URISA is also hosting a working group during the conference to develop the final tier of the Geospatial Technology Competency Model for the US Department of Labor (DOL). STAR-APIC Exhibiting at Two Events Simultaneously

The STAR-APIC Group will exhibit at MED-IT Algeria from 26th to 28th September 2011. Meanwhile, Mercator CPS, the subsidiary of STAR-APIC specialising in cartographic publishing solutions, will exhibit at Intergeo in Nuremberg, Germany, from 27th to 29th September 2011.   During MED-IT, STAR-APIC and its Algerian partner GPC-DZ will participate in one of the workshops to present GIS software and solutions dedicated to land and infrastructure management (water, sewerage and electricity networks, public authorities in charge of urban planning, cadastre, forestry...). Intergeo 2012 Events Aimed at Broadening Industry Dialogue

This year's INTERGEO, the 18th conference and trade fair for geodesy, geoinformation and land management which will be held from 9th to 11th October 2012 in Hanover, Germany, is to feature a number of parallel events. The additional events this year include the second Navigation Conference, the first German INSPIRE Conference and the third CLGE Conference for European surveyors. The signs already bode well for INTERGEO 2012. Three-quarters of the space in Halls 8 and 9 in Hanover has already been reserved, about 10% higher than last year, according to the organisers. ISPRS Geospatial Week 2015: 11 Events under One Umbrella

France hosted the ISPRS Geospatial Week 2015 which was held in La Grande Motte near Montpellier from 28 September to 2 October. The event attracted more than 500 participants from 52 countries. Enabling Faster, More Effective Response to Crisis Events

DigitalGlobe has launched two new geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) services at GEOINT 2011: FirstWatch and FirstLook. Both services are designed to enable faster response, smarter decisions, and more effective management of on-the-ground personnel during natural and man-made disasters.   The first new solution, DigitalGlobe FirstWatch, is a rapid analysis and reporting service designed to help users more quickly assess and formulate response strategies following natural and man-made disasters.   When a crisis event occurs, the DigitalGlobe FirstLook service is activated and begins collecting new imagery from the affected region.
