3D App Store for 3D documentation

FARO Technologies has announced its new 3D App Store for 3D documentation. According to the US-based company, easy to use programs tailored to specific tasks are the future of 3D Documentation software.

Often users do not really need to buy and run complex software solutions that can handle multiple and complex tasks. All they need for specific jobs – like surface or volume calculations – ares pecialised applications, the company states in a press release.

To offer customers easy access to the applications required for their specific business needs, FARO has launched the new 3D App Store. This gives companies and organisations the opportunity to lower their costs: with the 3D App Store, they only have to buy the specific applications that they really need for their daily activities, FARO says.

The 3D App Store is also open for third party software providers: companies developing apps for laser scan management and processing can use the FARO 3D App Store as an additional channel to market their Apps and reach a larger base of potential customers. All Apps are tested and approved by the FARO Team before being made available in the 3D App Store.

The FARO App Store will offer Apps for professionals working in sectors like construction, architecture, civil engineering, 3D survey, heritage, archaeology, mobile mapping, mechanical engineering, forensics and tunnel and mining.
