Google Launches Maps Service

Telcontar (CA, USA) has made public that Google recently launched the beta release of its new Maps Service, an application that offers online turn-by-turn directions, maps and search results based on locations from Google Local. Other features include text flags that identify the address on the map. A flag also includes links for directions to and from the location. The application is built on Telcontar's geo-spatial software platform Drill Down Server (DDS) and application development tools. The DDS enables LBS providers to integrate digital maps and database content from multiple sources. The beta-release currently coverages the US, Puerto Rico and parts of Canada. Browser support includes Internet Explorer and Mozilla, with content from Telcontar’s partners NAVTEQ and TeleAtlas.
