Guards and Thales Partner to Provide GIS Data Collection

Guards (Hungary) and Thales’ navigation business (CA, USA) have signed a business agreement, under which the two companies will partner in the development and marketing of the MobileMapper CE and Digiterra Explorer software. Under the agreement Guards will sell the Digiterra Explorer mobile GIS solution integrated with the MobileMapper CE handheld GPS from Thales. This partnership enables the companies to work together to offer tightly integrated and focused solutions for field asset management to Guards customers.

The two companies expect that the combination of Thales GPS expertise and Guards VAR relationships and experience will help them collaboratively drive GPS adoption and offer superior GPS/GIS data collection solution dedicated to mobile workforces.

Digiterra Explorer is a GIS software solution, suited for applications such as forestry, agriculture, nature conservation, environmental protection and land surveying. Digiterra Explorer is a full-featured GIS software package that runs on mobile devices and desktop computers. It includes thematic mapping, GPS data collection, navigation, active frame, customisable GUI, tilting of rasters, vectors and digital elevation model.
