Map World Forum 2007 - Update

Map World Forum is being organised in Hyderabad, India from the 22nd to the 25th of January 2007. The Plenary Sessions – Geographic Information as Public Utility, Convergence and Geospatial Industry, Geospatial Technologies: Return on Investment, Geospatial Information: Pricing Policy and Consumption will stage doyens from the industry and academia. There are fourteen Seminars, each conducted by a professional international organisation or society has themes like - Digital Sensor Systems and Automatic Production, Geospatial Technology in Utilities and Critical Infrastructure Protection, Urban Renewal, Public - Private Partnerships in Geospatial Domain, Global Outsourcing in Geospatial Industry and many others.


For those with penchant for learning by doing, they have, three Workshops – ‘GIS Ethics in Spatial Data Infrastructures Development’, ‘Intellectual Property Rights in Geographical Information’ and ‘Project Management’.


In a first of it’s kind, the world’s leading GI publications will come together to converge at the Geospatial Editors’ Forum. It will have the arena set to debate about ‘anisotropy in coverage’, ‘the future of print media in the geospatial domain’ and other burning issues.


The juniors will have special seats in the Students Forum – a place where the still in school will hob-knob with the oldies and plan their future careers. Technical Sessions where all of us have a chance to show and hear what we have been doing as our contribution towards the greater good of the Geospatial space will have prizes to fight for.


Industry leaders from around the globe will showcase the ‘today and tomorrow’ of geospatial technology in an exhibition area spread over 35,000 square feet of area.
