MapMart Adds KOMPSAT Imagery to Assortment

MapMart, a Colorado-based division of IntraSearch, has become a reseller of Satrec Initiative to offer the KOMPSAT-2 and KOMPSAT-3 imagery for end-users all over the world. The imagery produced by these sensors is a new addition to the high-resolution options currently available to MapMart customers.

KOMPSAT-3, launched in May of 2012, provides 0.7-meter pan sharpened colour imagery accessible to end-users worldwide.  A special feature to KOMPSAT-3 is the collection time of 1:30pm local to the area of capture which offers increased visibility into the target area from a temporal perspective.  The sub-meter imagery option is suitable for change detection, construction, agricultural, forestry, and oceanographic monitoring and urban management as well.

KOMPSAT-2 is a more established satellite offering 1-meter pan and pan sharpened and 4-meter multispectral imagery.  Launched in July 2006, KOMPSAT-2 has already built up a vast archive of the world, much of it with 10% or less cloud cover.  This satellite shares many of the same application capabilities as KOMPSAT-3.  The KOMPSAT-2 imagery is available from MapMart to end-users all over the world as well.

Rebecca Murray, partner and product Manager for MapMart commented including the KOMPSAT satellites as part of the MapMart imagery selections is a natural step in the composition of the complete MapMart offering.  The unique collection time in the early afternoon creates a sub-meter option MapMart has not been able to present to its users before.
