Ordnance Survey Launched Landplan Data

Ordnance Survey (UK) has launched a desktop data product that is ideal for property professionals such as architects, civil engineers, construction companies and estate managers.

Landplan Data enables detailed analysis of project sites from 1km² to 25km² anywhere in Great Britain based on up-to-date survey information.

It is the largest scale of Ordnance Survey raster data to show contours, providing an excellent overview of the lie of the land. Fences, field boundaries, road names and buildings are also included.

Landplan Data is delivered by email from a seamless database, so users can choose precisely where they want their extract centred.

It is available through the nationwide network of specialist retail agents, Ordnance Survey Options, who already offer a paper plot version of Landplan at the same 1:10 000 scale.

As Landplan Data is sourced from Ordnance Survey's large-scale national database, it can be used for site projects in remote upland moors as well as city centres. Users pinpoint their preferred area of interest by postcode, place name or National Grid reference.

The product is available in TIFF LZW compression format and can be ordered as colour or greyscale. The use of colour makes it easier to recognise the location of ground surface features, a potential time saving on site visits.

Landplan Data joins the wider product portfolio available via Ordnance Survey Options, including the larger-scale Superplan Data and Siteplan Data.
