Trimble Introduces GPS Handheld for Mapping

Trimble (CA, USA) has introduced the GeoXH handheld receiver, a GPS field computer to deliver subfoot (30cm) accuracy for GIS data collection and mapping. With the addition of an external Zephyr antenna, eight-inch (20cm) postprocessed accuracy can be attained.

The GeoXH handheld is based on Trimble’s H-Star technology, first introduced in the GPS Pathfinder ProXH receiver earlier this year.

The GeoXH handheld is part of the new GeoExplorer 2005 series that includes the submetre GeoXT and the 1-3 metre GeoXM handhelds. All three feature a 416MHz processor running the latest Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 software for Pocket PC, rechargeable battery for all day use, 512MB of onboard memory, expandable Secure Digital (SD) memory and Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity as standard.

GeoExplorer 2005 series is integrated Microsoft Windows Mobile version 5.0 software for Pocket PC. The GeoXH handheld is expected to begin shipping at the end of October 2005.
