Webinars on Geospatial and Civil Autodesk Solutions

Autodesk (UK) is offering the opportunity to discover more about the benefits of its next generation of geospatial solutions – and anyone interested can take part without leaving their desks. Its infrastructure solutions experts will be holding two series of six webinars (product presentations delivered over the internet) covering Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Map 3D between 18 September and 18 December. These will be free of charge although participants will need to pre-register.

Mapping topics covered will include advice on processing and managing OS MasterMap data and other large geospatial data sets and removing the need for continual translation of data between systems.

Autodesk Map 3D is the new platform for creating and editing spatial data. It delivers practical mapping functionality to engineers and geospatial professionals for integrating CAD and GIS, complementing existing GIS implementations and enabling fast access, efficient editing and easy management of a broad variety of large geospatial data sets.

The civil engineering sessions will focus on importing data, ground modelling, horizontal and vertical design, corridor modelling, cross sections and volumes and pipe networks. Autodesk Civil 3D is a new solution specifically tailored for civil engineers. Its 3D dynamic engineering model delivers the power to complete transportation, site development, landscaping, pipelines, waste disposal and many other kinds of projects significantly faster. Surfaces, cross sections, profiles and annotation are dynamically linked, making it quicker and easier to evaluate multiple alternatives, make better-informed decisions and output up-to-date plans.

Particularly useful for those considering a move to these new solutions from AutoCAD, the webinars will take place at a fixed time each week and last for around 35 – 45 minutes.

All participants need to do after registering is log on via their PC or laptop at the specified time. Each seminar will be delivered by a specialist in the topic and will be followed by an interactive question and answer session via the PC or over the telephone.
