Young Talent To The Fore At Intergeo

When this year's Intergeo opens its doors in Karlsruhe, Germany, on 22th September, over 200 geodesy students from outside Germany will be among the visitors. Together with their fellow students from Germany, they will be holding the first international "Students Meeting" at the leading international trade fair for geodesy, geoinformation and land management, under the patronage of the German Society for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management (DVW) and the CLGE (Council of European Geodetic Surveyors).

There is no better opportunity to find out about the latest developments in the industry and its related disciplines, experience technology at first hand and make new professional contacts.
The party afterwards at the University of Karlsruhe will also give the young visitors a sound basis to develop a European network.

The "GIS in Schools" initiative is another example of how the DVW and Intergeo are focusing on the next generation. It is intended to stimulate more interest in technical careers among schoolchildren and thus tackle the significant lack of engineers. With the unveiling of a young professionals' portal at Intergeo, the DVW will also be launching a further initiative, enabling young people to have fun while exploring the career prospects offered by the geodesy industry.

The Karlsruhe science region and Intergeo are an ideal environment for attracting pupils and students to these highly interesting and future-oriented subject fields.
