AutoTURN 5.1 Software

Transoft Solutions (The Netherlands), developers of CAD-based software for the architectural and engineering design industry, has released the simulation software AutoTURN live. Requirements for civil engineers in road design and traffic planning increase: clients do not only ask for compliance with guidelines and standards, they also ask for verifying feasibility of special vehicles in design. Conventional digital templates are not adequate anymore. The customer wants to see swept paths of double articulated buses or of the currently discussed XXL-trucks resp. 'Gigaliners' or 'Euro-Combis' with a total length of 25 metres. AutoTURN has an answer to these requirements. With this tool... (read more)

Lidar Rectification Software

The Optech Lidar Mapping Suite (LMS) version 2.0, for Airborne Laser Terrain Mapper (ALTM) clients, has been released. The suite offers a new workflow designed for the production environment. Incorporating a fully-automated batch-mode capability, Optech LMS enables simultaneous processing of multi-mission data collects, and includes multi-threaded and distributed processing capabilities to further increase processing efficiency. A new lidar rectification module provides additional value by maximising and quantifying project-wide accuracies. According to Michael Sitar, Optech's Airborne Survey products manager, optimizing lidar data accuracies by minimising flight-line to flight-line variations is a standard workflow process. By incorporating proprietary lidar optical models, Optech... (read more)

TerraPos Post-processing Software

The Norwegian company Terratec has introduced software capable of accurate positioning based on post-processing of GPS-observations, without the use of reference stations or DGPS services. Typical accuracy for kinematic applications are 3cm horizontally and 4cm vertically (RMS). This level of accuracy makes the software unique worldwide. TerraPos utilises precise orbits and clock corrections for the satellites, together with advanced error modelling to produce positions with impressing accuracy. Typpical RMS for a kinematic survey is 3cm horizontally and 4cm vertically. The result is an excellent tool for positioning in applications allowing for post-processing, such as airborne photogrammetric or Lidar operations, seabed... (read more)
